I’m enjoying Emory Allen’s An Exquisite Beast, a daily, and seemingly endless “exquisite corpse” style drawing.
We had a fantastic time at the Cloudy Collection show at Minneapolis’s Pink Hobo Gallery, and the rest of the weekend at MIX was so much fun!
But like the fun weekend, all good things must end. So instead of moping, we’re excited to release our celebration of the endtimes in our 2012 Calendar of the Impending Apocalypse. Each month was made by a different artist - January through December were made by Phil McAndrew, Jaime Zollars, Ana Benaroya, Joe Alterio, Adam Koford, Vincent Stall, Joe Lambert, David Huyck, Kali Ciesemier, Luke Pearson, Emory Allen, and Amy Crehore, repectively. Check them out!

There is “No Escape” from the Ocular Invasion of Emory Allen!
Besides, who would want to escape? His typographic experiments that turn into illustrations, like “Eye Spy” below, are a real inspiration!
By accident or design, Allen seems to be carrying on the good work begun by Milton Glaser and the fellows at Pushpin Studios in the late ’50s – early’60’s.
I found Emory Allen via his contribution to MiRP

These are very imaginitive works.
Hey, I know that guy! Emory was an intern with us back when I was working for Planet Propaganda. It's been a lot of fun to watch his work develop in the years since. He's currently working at MAKE in Minneapolis, if my info is up-to-date!
He's also a Robots + Monsters contributor! We love Emory, one of the best young illustrators working today.
These are really great. I love stuff that you have to look at twice. :o)
