4. Spotted: Too Many Fairies Book

I was at Babar Books in the Pointe Claire Village (Quebec) this past weekend, and spotted fellow IFKer Susan Mitchell's latest book, Too Many Fairies on the shelf. So I snapped a few photos with my trusty iPhone.

Below: The cover. And you can see the spines of the book on the shelf.

Below: One of the speads.

Below: Susan's Bio on the back flap.

6. Needle Felting

Okay I'm just not feeling the needle felting. I don't know if it's because of the wool I have or it's me but I seem to be struggling a little with it. I won't even show you what I made (my kid's laughed uproariously) But when I see all the neat stuff other people are making it makes me want to keep trying. My friend Susan Mitchell seems to be taking to felting like a duck to water. How cute is this little circus bear???

And check out these guys from artist Kit Lane. I just can't stop smiling when I see these little guys. They are so felting awesome!

7. Things At Home

Things are pretty quiet right now. My days feel a bit flipped around, three pm feels like three am but I'm dealing with it OK. I'm finding myself a bit slow getting back to work, there is always something to be done around the house and I get most stuff done when both Henry and Julie are asleep. Something promising has come up regarding Harry And Silvio, I can't talk much about it yet but I'll let you all know as soon as I can. henry is doing very well, growing and changing a little bit every day. Julie and I have had a few of those awful middle of the night won't stop crying moments but it all works out.
The top picture is of Henry asleep with his new friend. This was a gift made by Susan Mitchell, one of the best illustrators living in Canada. I couldn't believe it when this guy showed up in a little package because I was planning on buying one of Susan's toys for Henry as soon as I could. He now sits in a book shelf looking over Henry while he sleeps. it might just be me, but I think he's sleeping much better these days. You can get Susan's wonderful creations here.
The bottom picture is Julie taking Henry on his first ever walk.
P.S. I just heard from susan-the bear's name is Philbert.

8. Susan And Paul

I'm having the most wonderful weekend, and it's because I got to meet two of the coolest people I get to share this country with. Susan Mitchell, long time art blogging friend and her husband Paul Bracegirdle came to visit Nova Scotia with their son Ewan and friend John and his son Ben. what fun. Susan gave me this wonderful print, which I had mentioned some time ago to her that I particularly loved and it's very appropriate because it rained the whole time. However, the rain is fine if you're with great people in a small pub. In fact it's perfect. After nachos and drinks we went to an art gallery all the while discussing the ins and outs of living an "arty" life. It was a really great time and it was so great to finally meet the two amazing people I'd been talking to over the internet for so long. Big relief when people are really as cool as they seem.

Please check out Paul's fantastic new book The Joy Of Spooking at http://www.pjbracegirdle.com/

And Susan has a ton of amazing books to enjoy, she's at http://www.itsawhimsicallife.blogspot.com/
